Chlorine applications/dosing

Solid chlorine products are available in tablet, pill, or granular forms. These products contain stabilized chlorine (in the form of trichloroisocyanuric acid) that releases slowly when exposed to water. This slow release allows for regular and extended dosing of chlorine, enhancing its disinfectant effectiveness.

These products often include adjuvants that provide additional functions, such as algaecides (boric acid, copper sulfate), flocculants (aluminum sulfate), and bluing agents (copper sulfate). The solid nature of these products offers the advantage of treating water more thoroughly and being easier to handle. However, they lack the automatic dosing capability of liquid chlorine, which relies on flow control systems. Instead, their application requires the use of skimmers or floating buoys to ensure proper diffusion.
